Craftsmanship & Origin
This Brown Alpaca Cape is handcrafted by skilled artisans in Peru using traditional Andean weaving techniques. The weaving is done on a handloom, ensuring that each cape is truly unique and one-of-a-kind. It is then finished with a hand-stitched hem with ethically sourced fur sewn along the trim.
Quality & Durability
Quality is all about the fabric materials and the construction. When high-end fabrics meet excellent construction, you receive a garment that lasts longer and ages gracefully. Here at Moon Rising, we are committed to offering the best quality products backed by a mission and purpose to support the economic empowerment and cultural preservation of indigenous women around the world.
Material & Ethical Sourcing
Most of the baby alpaca wool used in each handwoven poncho, including your Brown Alpaca Cape, comes from herds owned by the women of the Q’ori T’ikas Weaving Collective, ensuring the highest quality and supporting their sustainable practices. Our handwoven baby alpaca capes and ponchos are all one-of-a-kind & made of 100% ethically-sourced baby alpaca wool. “Ethically-sourced” means that zero alpacas were harmed in the process. Alpacas live in some of the coldest regions of the Andes mountains, and we source our fur exclusively from babies that die naturally from exposure to the harshness of the elements or during childbirth turning something that would otherwise be considered as “waste” and turning it into wearable art.

To keep your brown alpaca cape looking its best, handling it with care is essential. Each cape comes with Care Instructions plus tools to keep your cape smooth and fur fluffy. Use a soft, damp cloth to gently blot the stain in case of minor spills or stains. Dry cleaning is the preferred method for cleaning alpaca garments. Alpaca wool has natural resilience, but occasional light brushing of the fur with a soft-bristle brush can help maintain its fluffiness.
